What’s with naming all games “Virtua” instead of virtual? Does it make it sound cooler?

Its a nod to the fact that it was the first 3d based fighting game(or atleast the first successful one). “Virtual Fighter” sounds kinda lame actually(even thogh thats what I thought the name of the games were when I was little, and probably why i never got into them until i was about 17). But yeah the “Virtua” is a play on “Virtual”

They could have really showed off the Dreamcast with this game as the NAOMI based DC hardware would have made VF3 DC vastly superior to the original arcade game, quite a selling point. AM2 should have spruced up Virtua Fighter 3tb with an enhanced version (like they did with VF Remix on Saturn), imagine VF3 with Soul Calibur/DOA visuals.

Very true about the controller. When it comes to fighting games, the Saturn controller (and the Genesis 6-button) is superior to the Dreamcast joypad. If I were the samurai warlord in charge of bringing back the DC, I’d probably redesign that controller to bring it back in line with the Saturn (mk2) design.
@gamesDAMNED i liked the dreamcast controller the only thing i’d do if i were releasing it again would be to make two versions of the controller one with triggers and the other with an extra 2 face buttons
This is a fraud! There’s no way a 3tb game could fit on a dreamcast disk!

this review is awesome….im a HUGE fan of virtua fighter…..i have the first and the second on the sega saturn!!
As much as I like the DC, I disagree with your statement that its controller is good for shooters. First person shooters like Unreal Tourney and Quake 3 handle poorly on the DC controller because it only has one freakin’ analog stick.
